Paid service – an auspicious start

I decided to start a mailing list today for all the readers who could be interested in a paid subscription service. It couldn’t be a better day to start ! No sooner I put up the signup form on the sidebar, the market drops with midcaps and small caps dropping more than 5% and some even 10%.

If putting up a mailing list caused a 5% drop, I shudder to think what would happen when I launch the actual service. A 20% drop :) ?

I am just joking.

The main reason for starting a mailing list is to have a separate channel to communicate about the details of the service and provide a monthly update.

I really do not want to the use the blog for this communication on an ongoing basis, as several of you may not be interested in this service and I don’t want to bore you with the details and thus change the character of this blog.

For those of you interested in learning more about the service, I would ask you to use the form on the sidebar to sign up for the mailing list. I would be sending out the details of the service via this mailing list and a monthly communication after that. You can be assured that I will not be spamming you and you can unsubscribe anytime you like.
